Borith Lake-Patundas Trek Hunza

The Patundas Trek is one of the most popular adventures in the upper Hunza Valley, leading to the breathtaking Patundas Meadows. From here, you’ll enjoy a bird’s-eye view of nearly all the iconic peaks of Hunza—snow-covered giants rising above drifting fog and mist, creating a scene you’ll never forget.

Perched on a ridge between the Passu and Batura Glaciers, Patundas serves as a summer pasture, where villagers from Ghulkin bring their cattle between May and August. The vantage point offers spectacular views of some of the Karakoram’s finest summits, including Passu Peak (7,284 m), Batura Peak (7,500 m), Shispare (7,619 m), Dasteghil Sar (7,885 m), Momhil Sar (7,342 m), and the mighty Rakaposhi (7,788 m).

The trek begins at Borith Lake, passing through Passugar and Luzdhar before reaching Patundas, with routes skirting along the glaciers. It’s a short, easy trek, suitable for all ages, and doesn’t require peak physical fitness—making it perfect for anyone who wants to experience the magic of Hunza’s highlands.

ITINERARY

Day- 1

(Islamabad → Hunza (Karimabad / Passu)

* **Option 1:** Morning flight to Gilgit (1 hour) + drive to Hunza (\~2–3 hrs)

* **Option 2:** Drive from Islamabad to Hunza via Karakoram Highway (\~18–20 hrs, can be split into 2 days)

Day- 2:

(Hunza → Borit Lake → Passu Glacier → Luzdhar)

Day- 3:

Day- 4:

(Luzdhar → Patundas Meadows)
Steady climb along Batura Glacier ridge to reach Patundas Meadows. Spectacular views of Passu Peaks, Batura Peak, Shispare, Rakaposhi, and surrounding summits.

Day- 5:

(Exploration/Rest Day at Patundas)

Day- 6:

(Patundas → Borith Lake → Hunza)

Day- 7:

(Passu-Karimabad/Hunza)

Day- 8:

(Fly to Islamabad)

Day- 9:

(Fly Home)
